JOB SUMMARY

The Social Media & Office Coordinator, ORH, works closely with the ORH team to support social media channels for the Founder, assist in the management of the Founder’s schedule, help execute ORH events and assist with administrative support.

 

Travel may be required as well as flexibility on hours of work.

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS                            

The Social Media & Office Coordinator, ORH reports to the Communications Manager, ORH and works closely with the ORH Team. This position liaises internally and externally with key stakeholders.

 

ORH TEAM ACCOUNTABILITIES 

In partnership with the ORH team, this position actively participates with Strategy and Climate. 


Strategy: 

  • Supports/leverages Rick’s engagement to maximize ROI; understands RH’s role; identifies target opportunities against ROI; helps secure opportunities; prepares Rick for success in the engagement; supports the event/engagement; ensures appropriate follow-up; and measures impact.


ORH Climate:

  • Participates and contributes in regular sessions; develops goals; and supports, implements and promotes action plans.


ALL STAFF: KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As an integral member of the RHF team and as expected of all staff, this position actively participates with:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Works closely with Communications Manager, ORH to support the development of engagement strategies for all events;
  • Coordinates the Founder’s engagement and content across all social media channels;
  • Works with the Sr. Production Specialist & Executive Assistant to the Founder, ORH to support the planning, production, implementation and evaluation of ORH events;
  • Engages and builds strong and positive relationships with all stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality events that generate favourable brand reputation and maximum revenue;
  • Supports the development of marketing collaterals, social media updates and other logistics as required for all events;
  • Supports the planning and coordination process for Rick Hansen’s public speaking engagements, including, but not limited to, venue logistics, audio/visual requirements, distribution of marketing materials, and book signings;
  • Staffs Founder at engagements, events or meetings as required and provides briefs and minutes if appropriate;
  • Works closely with the Sr. Production Specialist & Executive Assistant to the Founder to provide support and coverage for the Founder’s schedule;
  • Supports administrative office duties including, purchase orders, expense claims and other related duties as needed;
  • Receives, sorts and distributes confidential mail;
  • Enters data into Salesforce and Asset Bank;
  • Supports the accurate and consistent messaging of the Rick Hansen story and brand; and
  • Performs other related duties in keeping with the purpose and accountabilities of the position.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: University degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certification/Designations: None.

 

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience providing administrative support in a non-profit organization;
  • Experience with social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn;
  • Experience preparing and coordinating presentations;
  • Computer skills required including proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Experience with graphic design, especially MS Publisher and InDesign an asset;
  • Experience with SalesForce, SharePoint, and Asset Bank an asset;
  • Awareness and sensitivity of issues relating to disabilities an asset.
