CANADA SUMMER JOB PROGRAM:  ASSISTANT, OPERATIONS

 

  • 17.5 Hours a week
  • Term: 280 hours for 16 weeks
  • Start date: November 2, 2020
  • Hourly rate: $15.00 - $16.00 / hour (pending experience)
  • Location: On-site Richmond location and remote on occasion

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS: CANADA SUMMER JOBS PROGRAM

  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with BC legislation and regulations.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

As Assistant, Operations, you will perform a wide range of administrative duties for the Operations team related to office services. You will report to the Manager, Operations, Grants & Accountability and work closely with the Coordinator, Operations, as well as liaise with all RHF staff, vendors, visitors, couriers and BCIT.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help coordinate the storage and move projects for November 2020;
  • Help sort and distribute incoming mail, as well as collect and record outgoing mail;
  • Stock and organize storage rooms and cabinets;
  • Maintain inventories for RHF books, e-store and kitchen supplies;
  • Develop and maintain relevant spreadsheets using MS Excel;
  • Draft documents and basic communication materials;
  • Assist with filing and records management;
  • Coordinate stationary orders and fill supply requests as requested;
  • Help place maintenance requests with vendors and building management as needed; and
  • Other administrative responsibilities as requested.

 

 

PREFERENCES

  • High degree of professionalism and strict adherence to maintaining confidentiality and privacy;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail; and
  • Computer experience with MS Office.
